Health services

Every health requirement carries a deadline measured from the child's own enrollment date: 30 days for immunization records, 45 days for the well-child exam and the screenings, 90 days for the dental exam. An item is overdue when its deadline has passed and nothing has been recorded.

Denominators are the children currently enrolled, because a requirement follows the child. Items with a deadline still in the future are counted as due rather than overdue, which is the distinction that makes the list actionable rather than simply a compliance score.

Each line is the share of enrolled children whose requirement was recorded complete by that month end. The dental line starts at zero because the 90-day deadline puts the first exams in October.

45 CFR 1302.42 · 1302.43
The requirement. Within 30 days of a child entering the program, a program must determine whether the child is up to date on a schedule of preventive and primary health care, including immunizations, and within 90 days must obtain a determination of whether the child is up to date on oral health care. The program must then assist families in obtaining the care the child needs, and must report both the position at enrollment and the position at the end of enrollment. A program that stores only a current-status field cannot reconstruct the enrollment-point value in August, which is why both values are captured at the time.

The reasons account for every untreated child, which is the validation the annual report runs at item C.20.b. Dental pain is a documented driver of absence in this age group, so the untreated group also appears on the cross-system page against attendance.

Days is measured from the earliest overdue deadline to May 8, 2026. A program that sees this list in the program year can still act on it; a program that assembles it in August cannot.
